Competition-Style BBQ Ribs

Ingredients

  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • For rub: 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • For sauce: 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1 tbsp mustard powder

Instructions

Remove membrane from back of ribs

Mix all rub ingredients, coat ribs generously

Let ribs sit 2 hours or overnight

Smoke at 225°F for 5-6 hours, spritzing every hour

Make sauce by simmering all ingredients 15 minutes

Brush ribs with sauce last 30 minutes of cooking
